THE ETERNAL QUEST

A QUEST FOR TRUTH ON LIGHT OF

SRI RAMAKRISHNA AND SWAMI VIVEKANANDA

Truth, [Haq--- Satya] is God, we all are commencing, in the journey to quest for Truth with the blessings, on Divine light, guidance’s of our respective Lord, to me Sri RAMAKRISHNA, who says, “A TRULY RELIGIOUS MAN SHOULD THINK THAT OTHER RELIGIOUS ALSO, SO MANY PATHS LEADING TO TRUTH.[ PAGE 10 IN THE SAVING CALLENGE OF RELIGION BY SWAMI BUDHANANDA] In other way it would be said, all religions are, but so many paths leading to the same truth. One should always maintain are attitude of respect towards other religions. These noble saying would help us to understand and harmonize with the major religious of this world. On the light of the same truth as the Truth emphasizes only Supreme power of this universe, all are always praying that God.

Ignorance to this truth, by the authoritarian or empowered tyrant, inhuman some person thrashed on terminated the globe to the terrible turmoil and traumatizes the entire society in this world. Swami Vivekananda very long ego, warned us on 11th’ September 1893 at the world’s parliament of religions Chicago.—He cautioned –a declaration to word of the wonderful doctrine preached in Gita—whosever comes to me, through what so ever form, I reach him; all men are struggling through paths which in the end lead to me. Sectarianism, bigotry, and its horrible descendant, fanatic, have long possessed this beautiful earth”… Even today we have experienced day today the same as, Swamiji continued—they have filled earth with violence drenched it often and often with human blood, destroyed civilization and sent whole nation to despair. Had it not been for the horrible demons human society would be far more advanced than it is now.” [page 2 selection from C.W.] In the words of Swamiji—One of the grandest truth that was ever discovered ,.. He who exists is once; the sages called Him variously. [ RikVda ENERNAL VALUE.5]

In this quest of truth, enlighten to me----Only the truth will exist, and everything will exit or exile, as my beloved Lord and the great teacher, “He alone is the true teacher who illuminated by the light of true knowledge.” SRI RAMAKRISHNA says—God is one, but He is worshipped in different ages and climes under different names and forms-----it is always one and the same God that is worshipped in these diverse relations.—but say not that your religions is better than that of another.----through ignorance a common man considers his own religion to be the best and makes much useless clamor; but when his mind is illumined by true knowledge, all sectarian quarrels disappear.----Every man should follow his own religion. A Christian should follow Christianity, and a [Muslim] Mohammedan Mohammedanism [Islam]. For the Hindu, the ancient path, the path of the Aryen Rishis, is the best. [ when they believe oneness of God – The BRAHMAN

In the context of Truth, SRI RAMAKRISHNA, who says, Truthfulness is the Tapasya [austerity] of this kalijuga. [modern age] unless one always speaks the truth, one cannot find God, who is soul of the Truth. Through truth one can realize God.

In the interviews on Indian Mission to Sundays Times, London 1894[ ibidc.m-374] Swamiji says—I am the disciple of Ramakrishna Parahamsa, perfects sannyasin whose influence and ideas I fell under. This great sannyasin never assumed the negative or critical attitude towards other religions, but showed their positive side- how they could be carried in to life and practiced. To fight to assume the antagonistic attitude, is the exact contrary of his teaching, which dwells on the truth that the world is moved by love. Swamiji once said –everything can sacrifice for truth, but truth can not be sacrificed for anything.

It is my opinion that the curse for crucifixion of a great soul son of God, we the all human beings as like Jews, had have been suffering till today, by discarding the teachings,------------------------------HE TEACHES us – for from the inside, from a man’s heart, come the evil ideas which lead him to do immoral things to rob, kill, commit adultery, be greedy, jealously' stander, pride, and folly, all these evil things come from inside a man and make him unclean. [Mark-7-21-23]

FAITH==============Today we are very unfaithful to ourselves and other too, even to our respective religions, results suffering on and on.

Death is merely moving from one home to another. The wise man will spend his main efforts in trying to make his future home the more beautiful one.”

Rabbi Menachem Mendel Morgenstern of Tomashov (the Kotzker Rebbe

“Mankind, East and West, Christian and Muslim, accepted the Jewish conviction that there is only one G-d. Today it is polytheism that is so difficult to understand, that is so unthinkable.”

T.R. Grover, The Ancient World, p. 186The Bible, John 8:32

The Bible, John 8:32
The truth shall make you free. The Bible, 1 John 3:18 NRSV
Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.

The Bible, Matthew 17:20
I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here to there" and it will move.

From book-Your God is my God written by GLADYS DE MEUTER-1970]Chapter-1--- the song of Zarathustra – unite and make common cause with all agencies that fight for truth. ----“Who rekindled the light of Truth in the consciousness of my children, …. He taught that in man is a conflict between light and darkness, or truth and ignorance.. Convey to the people that behind the absorbing sense world lay the spiritual world which alone is Reality, and that by fixing thought wholly on truth, it would manifest Its presence in response to individual effort. [p-47]

One truthful man is better than the whole world uttering falsehood. [p-54] Concludes --- Beloved, the portal leading to happiness is crowned with the golden wards—Be Good. [p-55] chpter--Song of rishis --- Truth is ever the victor and untruth. The road to the Divine is paved with truth. The Rishis walk on that road with their desires all quenched to reach the supreme dwelling place of truth that is God.[ p-42] … The greatest error is the betrayal of self. Those who have seen the light of truth seek to teach humanity, so that the brotherhood of man which is divine expressed by man may bring heaven to earth. [p-34]

One of man, thousand mortals may strive for truth. Of those who make the effort only a few cometh to know me in truth as I am.[ p-36] FROM THE CHAPTER—THE OF THE HEART IN YOUR GOD IS MY GOD.- Beloved in the hidden tabernacle of his heart, to him Truth cannot be expressed in words for they limit Truth. [p 136]

BUDDHA- BUDDHISM

From the book Comparative Religion and philosophies—M.N.Gulati page 186]

Lord Buddha’s sermon of the Turning of the Wheel of Low, which reflected in the Four Noble Truths and Eight Fold Noble PATH=====

1] True suffering- Mundane existence is suffering. [Duhkha] [2] True cause of suffering- Desire is cause of suffering[3] True cessation—Nirvana [awakening or enlightenment is cessation of suffering; [4] True Path—The noble eight fold path [1]Right views—The perfect understanding] [2] Perfect speech [4] Right action\ conduct] [5] Perfect LIVELIHOOD [6] Right effort [7] Right recollection.

Buddhadev—Human existence is a continuous living and dying. Life is out of balance, because all things are impermanent yet, we desire things s if they were permanent, Everything we desire shall ultimately pass away. So we are frustrated at our failure to achieve those things. Hence we suffer only to be born again in to a new life of desires

And sufferings.

JAINISM

Ethical living was the principal basis of the Faith propagated by Mahavira, these are----- Ahimsa [nonviolence] Satya [pursuit of truth] Truthfulness. Always speaks the truth, falsehood never. Asteya [Satata --Honesty; no stealing]

Aparigraha [No possession and non attachment. BRHMACHARYA [CELIBACY] [p-152]

Lord Mahavira preached the three-fold path towards liberation of one’s self---[1] Right faith [2] Right knowledge [3] Right conduct [4] Right Austerities. [p-156]

On the context of the harmony of all the major religions in this world, it reflects in same book, [p-172] – In a nutshell, the universal Jain prayer, Navakar Mantra, represents the essence of ancient Indian’s philosophical thoughts---

I bow down to the enlightened souls.

I bow to the religious leaders.

I bow to the liberated souls

I bow to religious teachers.

I bow to all monks of the world.

To compare its refer—IN Hinduism eight aspects of Yigic path as follows--- [1] Ethics of Restraint—AHIMSA, TRUTH—NOT STEALING, CELIBACY AND NOT BEING GREEDY. [2]Discipline—cleanliness, serenity, asceticism-study, devotion to the Lord;

[3] ASANAS [4] BREATH CONTROL [5] SENSE WITHDRAWAL [6] CONCENTRATIO [7] MEDITATION [8] SAMADHI

The disciples of SRI RAMAKRISHNA, who had sacrificed their lives for the services to the people, they had learned the eternal truth from their Master, SHIBA - G-YAENE –JIBA –SEVA, SERVE TO PEOPLE AS GOD.

From the book ---WHAT THE DISCIPLES SAID ABOUT IT.

Swami Brahmananda----He alone is truth. Truth is to be attained. Let not your life pass by in vain. Almost everyone thinks that what he understands is the truth and way for everybody. [Et comp-P-138-MAH-P-27

Through the religious practices the mind will become pure, and you will understand many truths. There is no limit to them. [et.comp-p204] Lose yourself in prayer and meditation, otherwise, how can the door to spiritual truth be opened? [Et-com-p-206]

God is.[truth] Religion is true. These truths are not preached merely to make men moral or to keep an orderly society. God truly is; he is the Reality and he can be realized. He is true. THERE IS NO GREATER TRUTH THAN HE. [ET-COM-P-222] Swami Shivananda— God is Truth itself—the inner Controller. [for seekers-p-160] swami Premananda— Let the world be united in love as one race. Know that love alone is true- all else is fleeting false.[and] Take refuge in truth. [Prem- teach- p-56 and 58]

One should always maintain are attitude of respect towards other religions. These noble sayings would help us to understand and harmonize with all major religions of the world.

In Rik-Ved [ ETERNAL VALUES-P- V] By self dedication, one obtains faith; is truth obtained. In Mundaka Upanishad [ibid-p-2] –Truth alone wins, not untruth, speak the truth, practice righteousness, make no mistake about study… There should be no inadvertence about truth, [ Taittiriya upanished] There is no virtue higher than truth, there is no sin greater than falsehood; therefore should man seek protection under truth will all his soul. [ Mahanivana tantra ibid p-4] Ramachandra is symbol of truth, as Sri Krishna said—Truly do I promise you that you shall verily, reach me, [for] you are dear to me. [Who] absorb your mind with me, be my devotee, sacrifice un to me, bow down to me. As same JESUS CHRIST said— to the Jews who believed in Him, - If you obey my teachings you are really my disciples you well know the truth and the truth will make you free. [ p-251- GOOD NEWS FOR MODERN MAN –BIBLE] …..come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I shall give you rest. Take my yoke upon you learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall rest unto your soul. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Jesus said, [32] BIBLE] When Pilate therefore said to Him, Are you a king of them? Jesus answered, you say rightly that I am a king. For his cause I have come in to the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is o the truth hears my voice.[JOHN-19-37IBID] Pilate said to him, what is truth? And when He said this, He went out again to the Jews, and to them, [Pilat] I find no fault in Him at all.’

JOHN-4 PAGE-280]

1] God is love. 7] DEAR FRIENDS Let us love one another, because love comes from God. Whoever loves a child of God and knows God.[8] whoever does not love know God, because God is love.

FAITH--Today we are very unfaithful to ourselves and other too, even to our respective religions, results suffering on and on.

ISLAM

FROM—THE MEANING OF THE HOLY QURAN, TRANS- M.M. PICKTHALL

In the Holy Koran, the same Truth, related with other religions of the world as follows—

The cow- surah-2-42- confound not truth with falsehood, not knowingly conceal the truth. 82- And those who believe and do good work—such are rightful owners of the garden. They will abide therein. 132- The ABRAHAM enjoin upon his sons. And also Jecob [saying] – O my sons, lo, Allah hath chosen for you the[true] religion; therefore die not save as men who have surrendered [unto him]

Jonah surah-10- 33-page -33- Such then is Allah, your rightful Lord. After the Truth what is there saving error? How then are ye turned away.

call (for help) on all ye can besides Allah, if ye are truthful.

[surah 170] O mankind! The messenger hath come unto you with the truth from your Lord. Therefore believe; (it is) better for you. But if ye disbelieve, still, lo! Unto Allah belonged whatsoever is in there heavens and the earth. Allah is ever knower, Wise.[94]

133- Or were yet present when death come to Jacob, when he said unto his sons—what will ye warship after me? They said—we shall warship thy God, the God of the fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac, One God, and unto him we have surrendered. [p-44]

[The Family of Imran-surah-3 -57-] 57- And as for those who believe and do good works, He will pay them their wages in full, Allah loveth not wrongdoers. 115—And whatever good they do, they will not be denied the need thereof. Allah is Aware of those who ward off[evil].

160-[surha 13] such them is Allah, your rightful Lord. after the Truth what is there saving error? How then are ye turned away.[surah 36] say: is there of your partners (whom ye ascribe unto Allah) one that leadeth to the Truth? Say : Allah leaded to the Truth.

Is He who leadeth to the Truth more deserving that He should be followed, or he who findeth not the way unless he (himself) be guided. What aileth you? How judge ye?

[surha 37] Most of them follow naught but conjecture. Assuredly conjecture can by no means take the place of truth. Lo! Allah is Aware of what they do.

In this connection, I may refer from Gita, Those who worship with devotion other

Gods are also worshipping only me, through in another way. [9-23] Fix your mind Me alone, rest your thought on Me alone, and in Me alone you will live hereafter. Of this there is no doubt. [12-8] If you are unable to fix your mind steadily on Me, O, Dhananjaya, then seek to reach Me by the yoga of constant practice. [12-9]

In the every religion some ritual or daily practices are prescribed, I thing it is wrong, who says, I am not religious but spiritual. I do believe, without practices of daily conduct of religious truthful life in any religion, no one would reach to the eternal Truth, Supreme power, God.

I must acknowledge the quoting from –SUFISM WRITTEN BY WILLIAM.C. CHITTICK

Sufism is mysticism or esoteric or spirituality, usually with the adjective ISLAMIC tacked on front. Sufism has a family resemblance with other traditions- such as kabbalah, Christian mysticism, yoga, Vedanta, or Zen- but making this connection does not necessarily help us get any closer to Sufism itself… Sufism [4] equivalent to authentic religious experience. According to this Hadith, the Prophet and few of his companions were sitting together, when a man appeared and asked him several questions. When he departed, the Prophet told his companions that this had been the angle Gabriel, who had come to teach them their religion [din]. Gabriel questions and the PROPHET’S ANSWERS, THE RELIGION OF Islam to have three basic dimensions. Three as constant Koran themes -- submission – [Islam] The PROPHET defined] to been witness that is no God but God and that Muhammad is His messenger. The three are submission [Islam] faith [Iman] and doing the beautiful [Ihsan] to pay the alams Tax, to fast during Ramadan, and to go on the pilgrimage to Macca if you can find the means to do so. Prophet says—Faith is a light that God casts in to the heart of whom so ever He will. [Koran verse2—115] Wherever you turn there is is the face of God. If Suism is an appropriate name for doing what is beautiful and striving after spiritual perfection, then it is built on two foundations—Islam or submission to God [SHARANAGOTI IN HINDUISM]]

The practice OF THE Saria and the Prophetic model. [ to me as prescribed in The Gita] and Iman or faith. [p-39] Prophet says—He who knows himself, knows his Lord. [57-4] And He is with you wherever you are. AUTHOR SAYS IN THE SAID BOOK—THROUGH THE JOURNEY OF SELF PURIFICATION AND DEVOTION TO GOD, THE TRAVELERS PILGRIMS REACH A STAGE WHERE THEY BECOME FULLY OPEN TO THE DIVINE LIGHT AND THE BRILLIANCE OF THIS LIGHT ANNIHILTES ALL THE HUMAN LIMITATIONTHAT HAD HELD THEMBACK FROM SEEING THEIR TRUE SELVES AND THEIR LORD.

If you love God, follow me, and then God will love you. [3-31] Sufi poet RUMI—Pure love was paired with Muhammad—because love God said to me- But for you. [p-79]—Love is an attribute of God, who has no needs.[p-82]

BUDDHAISM

BUDDHA

On Buddhist concept—karma embodies moral action with moral consequences.

According to the seed that’s sown

So is the fruit ye reap there from

Doer of evil, evil reap.

Sown is the seed and then shalt taste

The fruit there of.

Sikhism

There is one God

Eternal Truth is His name.

Creator of all things and the all-pervading spirit

Fearless and without hatred.

Timeless and formless

Beyond birth and death

Self enlightened.

By the grace of the GURU he is known.

-

From the one lord all are born. The routes are two, but know that their Master is one. Under the Guru’s instruction, recognize his order. Says, Nanak, I braise the one Lord who is contained in all shapes, colours and being. [p-290

Absolute Bliss – His Soul and body dyed with the Name of one God.

Shall ever abide with the Supreme Soul.

As water blendeth with water

So light is blended with Light.

Transmigration is ended and rest obtained

Nanak is ever a sacrifice to the Lord.

[5-11-8 Gouri Sukhmani Mahalla]

From Dharma come both wealth and just sense of joy why strive ye not then for the Righteousness .

Of all the gains that duet ours can duet brings, the best, the greatest, is the gain of self; of all true knowing, this most deep and true the soul wins back there by its death less ness.

Self knowledge is the only pearl

In this Sea of Life;

Like whirlpools round our self use whirl

In is crescent Shife,(Sufi Hafiz)

Who knows his self known God.[Koran\ sufi] ye are the living temples of God.[Bible]

Sri Ramakrishnadev says—I gave up everything at Her Divine mother’s feet but could not bring myself to give up truth. [p-362-Gospel] In the eternal companion page 226—Tulsidasa says—Always speak the truth, take refuge in God and look upon all women as your mother. If you do not attain God by doing these three things, then you will know that the words of Tulsidasa are lies.So long as one cannot conceive of a single God, one cannot realize the Truth. One who knows the Truth as many and not as one, has no right, to proceed with his Sadhana and Prayers.(dwell O mind, within yourself)-- One can emancipate oneself only by the treading on the path of truth. [46- Regveda] o, Lord, may we see listen to good by our ears, may we see good by our eyes, may behave healthy bodies and praise you, and be blessed with long life. [89\8-Rig veda] Iam renouncing untruth and embracing truth. [1- yojur veda] The knowledgeable always tead [lead] on the path of truth and righteousness. [1694-Samo veda] Srimad Bhagavatam also continued, The nectar of the words gives life to those scorched by the word. Those words which have been declared by the knower of the truth, dispel our ignorance. These are the noble teachings, which have to follow.

In the conclusion of humble writing, I quoted from, Arnold Toynbee- To know this is

Good, but it is not enough. Religion is not just a matter for study; it is something that has to be experienced and to be lived, and this the field in which Sri Ramakrishna manifested his uniqueness. We may be blessed to be truthful, as assured by our divine Mother Sri Saradadevi—My blessing are for everyone, for those who are coming now, and for those have not yet come, and for those who will come in the distant future.

Om, may we, O Gods hear with our eyers what is auspicious, may we, O worshipful Gods, see with our eyes what is good. May we strong in limbs and body, sing your praise and enjoy the life allotted to us prajapati

Om-- peace, peace, peace to unto all OM TAT SAT,
